현이 끊어 졌을 때 뿐만 아니라 라이어의 음이 더 이상 고운 소리가 나지 않을 때도 교체 하는 것이 바람직합니다. 현은 소모품이므로 여유분을 보유하고 있으면 편리합니다. 현을 교체 할 때는 교체하지 않은 현처럼 팽팽해 질 때까지 시계반대 방향으로 3 ~ 3½바퀴를 감아 주셔야 합니다. 그림 5에서 보여 준 바와 같이 현을 튜닝핀(Tuning Pin)에 끼운 후 현의 끝부분 5mm를 90도로 꺾고, 45mm의 여유를 두어 시계의 반대 방향으로 돌려 주세요. (그림 6)

Auris Diatonic Children's Lyre - 12 strings

Twelve tone diatonic lyre a-h(b)-c’-d’-e’-f’-g’-a’-h’-c’’-d’’-e’’ and bordune lyre. 
THE 12-STRINGED LYRE – can be tuned pentatonic as well as diatonic. In order to simplify orientation this lyre has red and blue strings to make it easier to find the right string. Both the 7-stringed and the 12-stringed lyre can be tuned in open chords and be used as a drone instrument.

Bordune 
Due to the many strings, the LDD lyre can be tuned into various chords or bordune scales. In this case you strum all the strings together to hear the entire chord ringing; is used to accompany a melody that is sung or played on another instrument. If you have more than one lyre in a group, they can be tuned into different chords so that you can accompany a song with as many chords as you have differently tuned lyres. 

Pentatonic 
This lyre is the same as the pentatonic LDP model if you change the strings into the pentatonic set. In this way you can use the instrument in a pre-school situation.
